Just a quick Note from Casa de Togo. You know what happened one year ago today?
That’s right. The big solar eclipse. And when it happened I knew that it was going to be a special day.
I had been given a temporary kennel space at the animal shelter. It was pretty noisy, but the food wasn’t bad. And several times a day, nice people let me go to the play yard where I could run, sniff, and do my business.
So I thought it was going to be one of those times. But when my keeper unfastened my leash, I saw them. Two strangers sitting on a bench. One of them called my name and I took a chance. I went up and greeted her. Sniffed a bit and then took off to attend to other things. But I kept my eye on them. They weren’t going anywhere.
Soon, I would determine that these were my new forever people, Momma and Daddy. My keeper took me back to my space while they went to the front and swore with their hands on a Bible in front of the doggie judge that they would love me always.
And then we were off for my first ride in Daddy’s truck to my new home.
Momma later told me that the people at the shelter told her to be patient with me because it would often take up to three months for an adopted dog to become comfortable in new surroundings. Momma and I agree that it took me less than three minutes.
I’m celebrating today and sharing some pictures through this first year. Thanks for being part of my extended family.

Happy New Year of me!

Happy Gotcha Day Mia! You hit the jackpot for sure but so did Momma and Daddy. You’re doing a wonderful job taking care of them. Keep up the good work!
