Mia, about those socks and the nice people who forced you to wear them. Please understand your Mommy and Daddy are doing the best they can; also remember they are so old they were born way back in another century. Back in those days there was a TV comedy program called Laugh In; it had a regular comedy routine with a “Sock it to me” punchline. Perhaps they’re still back there. Bear with them; soon you’ll be fine.
Daddy started chuckling when I read him the part about Laugh In. Although he seemed to remember that the people who said "Sock it to me!" didn't fare too well. He promises there was no bad intent toward me. Then he slowly turned and said, "Very interesting," in a German accent.
Things are getting better already! My paw is almost well and Daddy found little purple rubber boots that fit my feet. They're almost like balloons and they make squishy noises on the sidewalk. Daddy is driving me to the nearby campus and we're walking and sniffing. Well, Daddy's not sniffing. But collectively we are getting the job done.
So honored you took the time to reply. Hope you are having or had a Happy Monday or Happy St. Patty’s day ☘️. Again, looking forward to you sharing you are all better soon. 💚
Oh Mia, I’m so sorry. So glad you didn’t have to wear a cone. They aren’t fun and I don’t like people to touch my feet. Did your Mom get you pink socks? Pink is my favorite color. Get better quick. Love, Oreo
People just don't understand about feet, do they? Some of socks were pink, some were part pink, and another pair had a little pink bear. I didn't know bears came in pink. Thanks for your well wishes,
Glad to hear you are feeling better Mia. My cataracts are so bad I can’t tell pink from purple. But everything in my house stays the same so I know my way around. I’m just so glad your paw is better. Love, Oreo
The cone would have been the ultimate embarrassment! Fortunately, this situation didn't call for that. If it had, I would have written my story far more tersely. Thanks for the well wishes,
Mia, you have my sympathy. I had to go to the beauty shop this morning to get clean and beautiful. Well I really should say more beautiful. They dry me with a blow dryer. Why can’t they just let me go out in the sun and shake the water out. That’s really what dogs are supposed to do. Hope you get to walk soon.
Eskie
PS: have you watched the Idarod? Some of those dogs must be distantly kin to me.
I don't much like the blow dryer either, especially in my face. Once a year, they do a "furminator" treatment on me using special shampoos that makes my undercoat go away. When they blow dry me, it looks like it's snowing in that room!
Those dogs are definitely kin to you, Eskie! Keep cheering them on!
Thanks for the kind and comforting words. Secretly, I'm glad it's not time to walk yet. The wind is blowing 30 mph and West Texas and part of New Mexico are flying overhead. Just like you remember when you lived in these parts.
Hope you and Shadow are doing well and that Las Cruces isn't sailing past.

Dear Mr. Roger,
Daddy started chuckling when I read him the part about Laugh In. Although he seemed to remember that the people who said "Sock it to me!" didn't fare too well. He promises there was no bad intent toward me. Then he slowly turned and said, "Very interesting," in a German accent.
Thanks for your encouragement,
Mia
Mia, just for fun, ask your Daddy if Tyrone is his nickname. He might chuckle, or go sit on a park bench.
Hang in there, Mia! I know it's hard to do, but just remember..."All's well that ends well."
Mr. Bob,
Things are getting better already!
Regards,

Wishing you a continued speedy recovery. ♥️
Thank you, Tracey! My Daddy likes coffee, too. But he just sips and stares at his computer -- no cozy talk. It's ok. I'm usually snoozing.
Have a great weekend!
Mia

Mia, you can trust your nurses. That paw will be better in no time. At least you didn’t get the cone of shame!

I'm so sorry you hurt your paw, Mia. But I know your Momma and Daddy are taking good care of you. You'll be back to walking soon.
