He’s there even when he’s not caught in frame. Pretty sure if you could enlarge from heaven, my Gramma is petting him.

That’s kind of treat getting a little bit of Togo’s paw in that picture. I’ve been a big fan of Togo since the first time I read of his adventures. I agree with you about Togo always being there. All the pets I’ve had are still with me in my heart and memories. Thanks Joey.

It was a treat. I hadn't looked closely at that picture since I took it. His presence brought me a big smile. Thanks for reading and being a friend of Togo.

Joey, these thought have been in my head since your last post about Sammy the squirrel. In the fall, we lost our 15 year-old "puppy", who was a chihuahua mix - always little so always a puppy. Reading through your writings, I smiled as I remembered games of fetch and snuggles on the couch. She was such a good friend to my children and to me. Never aggressive like some of her breed, and always excited to see us come home. Then your post about the squirrel brought me to tears. Our puppy's name was Samantha, Sammy for short, and I think this was my sign that she might have found Togo on the other side. And now, after getting over her initial fear of big dogs, they are becoming fast friends. Coincidence? Likely, but I really like to dream of it that way. Thank you for allowing us to walk this path with you.

Sheila, I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Sammy. I know that she was an incredible friend. I know you still feel the empty place she left, but the memories are wonderful, aren't they?

I was especially touched by the thought that Sammy and Togo have struck up a relationship with Sammy getting over her fear of big dogs. Because he was 1/8 gray wolf, we were told that he would always be aggressive with other dogs. And so we just made sure that we avoided close contact. We discovered later that he was probably only being protective. In fact, he had a great friendship with the dogs next door, even though they only met through the fence. We often wished that he could have a close friend. I like thinking that Sammy is that friend now.

Thanks for sharing about her. Continued thoughts and prayers as you remember Samantha.
